This is the first time the engine has ran.
Needs a tune up and misfire sorting but not sounding too bad for the first time in over 18 months.

Looking good.

Another step forward.

There always seems to be a never ending list of little things to do!

Are you going to R/R it once it's sorted, Austecs?

I have a list of 16 jobs to make it roadworthy.
I will get as much done tomorrow then i want to trailer it to TrackVRoad on Friday for geo, MoT and a tune up.
I will sort the insurance etc and drive the car South the following week so if all goes to plan i will be at the Austec RR open day on the 21st to see how its performing.

See you there, are you coming up from the coast?

No if the plan works out rolleyes i wil pick the car up Friday, then a tune/checkup, then drive to my sisters near Bath.
Then i will come over to Austec sat morning, spend the day then i am not sure.
I might take it to stay at a safehouse Barry knows for the week.

'kinell. I thought you got it wrong for a minute. Bath is hardley on the way to Austec - then I noticed you're coming from Barrow-in-Furness. That's North of Gloucester and everything. hehe

I have to squeeze it all in asap. Got a big day coming up wink
The engines only ran for 20 mins and its only driven in and out the garage so the drive from TrackvRoad in Clitheroe to Bath then to Austec should run it in nicely.
Interested to see the RR result NA on my engine as its quite unique.

Track V road have done most of those last jobs including sorting the completely stubborn sheared bonnet hinge bolts!
Trouble is the engine is spitting back up the inlet as though a valve is staying open.
A compression test tomorrow should tell a tale and maybe to reset the valve clearances will fix. Worring times!

I know the heads were ported and built with the bronze guides to such a high standard. I pray that a valve hasnt been damaged in the start up due to an incorrect clearance setting.
I would be very suprised if Mike had a bad day but i know he checks everything 2 or 3 times.

Ian at Trackvroad is doing a compression test this morning so hopefully we will learn from that.

Comments from Ian at TvR

'Found the cause of the problem,it was an ex valve on number 6 not opening at all due to pushrod adjuster backed of/loose.all the clearences seem to be around 22 thou although there are some at 30 thou these seem to loose to me I would think 12ish would be more the norm whether nox has a bearing on this I don’t know. The compressions seem very low generally again I don’t know if this is by design. I will check again when I have set the valves. This will explain why it was on 7 also'
