Please.

I've just been for a test drive and it was lovely, if about £2k more than I really want to spend.

Black sportwagon with black leather. Really, really nice.

The only thing wrong with the 1.9 Lusso Sportwagon is that the 1.9 ti Sportwagon isn't much dearer. smile

Seriously, I don't think there's much reason to put you off. I was all set to get a 1.9 Lusso, but I couldn't get the paint / leather / wheels combination I wanted without a factory order, so went with a 1.9 ti instead.

I wanted carbonio black paint, red leather, and 18" horsehoes - I guess it was a sort of 'pimped hearse' look I was after - but ended up getting one in Alfa red with black leather and the 19" spokes.

The 1.9 was my third choice of engine (after the 2.4 diesel and the 3.2 petrol) but I couldn't justify the extra costs when it's just meant to be a workhorse car. The economy isn't brilliant for a relatively modestly powered diesel, but at least it's not as dieselly sounding as some others. As for performance, it's not going to win any races but it gets along quickly enough for what it is.

I've only had mine two weeks, so far I'm pretty happy with it. smile

Alright; "You want the V6 instead, it's better"wink (Presuming this of course based on the other model's V6 versions.....)

It sounds like a bus.

Is the economy OK on the 1.9? The 2.4 I had for a while was nearly the same economy as my old V6 166 and nowhere near as nice to drive.

If you'd have really wanted it, you'd have bought it by now wink and I think the Ti's are are even more than Thudd wants to spend.

Screw the naysayers in their boring BMW's, they're just jealous because they didn't have the balls to buy the better looking car wink

buy the 2.5 five pot instead? i did - near enough same fuel economy (pretty crap to be honest) but much more entertaining especially the Q4

easy way to decide - drive 200miles on the motorway - count the number of 2.0 bmws and audi a4s - when you reach over 100 (the first 10 miles) you'll be wanting to be different wink

but nearly new and save a bomb! these babies loose £700 a month for the first year! TI residuals seem to be better than the lussos as well. 57 plates are much cheaper than teh revised 08 plate cars - the revisions are minimal and on the TI £3.5k shy of extras like electric seats etc

Take a look at these ones coming up at BCA auction in Nottingham - real shame its a closed sale for "approved" buyers only - otherwise I go and get one too !
