Spider soft top trouble

Ive got some trouble with the hood on my w reg spider, since ive had it there seems to be a lot of wear from wherever the hood folds down on its self and is now making two small holes right at the front near the windscreen, is this due to misalignment of sorts? im hopeing it might be possible to get these small splits (about 1cm long) fixed? any advice would be great as i cant see a new hood being a possibility!!!
