I/m diabolical at selling a car, to the point where i kept my first Bravo for 4 years and 12 gearboxes and clutches, 2 head gaskets and a few other repairs. this cost me more in repairs alone than it did to buy the car on finance!

would love to own a grale one day, but i doubt ill ever have the money to own all the cars i would love frown

Sarah would skin me alive if I even attempted it! Monkeymatt pointed out an interesting blue Quattro for sale in Maidstone at under £7k the other week, I rather stupidly raised the issue with wifey and instantly regretted it frown

Yep, have had mine 8 years and have "tried" to sell it 3 times. I even let someone else drive it once...

Was thinking she might have to go as I am going non-dom... but just having wheels re-furbed and 3 angle valve job / hybrid turbo etc and now thinking 90days use a year will keep the mileage down and the value up, and I'll always look forward to driving her, and the tax savings will buy lots of goodies and what would I replace her with anyway, and god she looks stunning after a wax job (the car), and, and, and...

Did you (any of you) drop the car or keep it on standard springs?

Got to say, swapping the suspension is the easiest thing to transform an ageing car.

In 2003 I fitted Group A Grevel spec Bilsteins to mine, and I just returned it to standard a couple of months ago. It now feels like a scary speedboat, lurching back on acceleration and has nowhere near as good traction.

Keeping it standard is nice for the originality, but suspension design has come such a long way in 20 years that modern applications like Ohlins ad RSR are far superior both on road and track.

That's what I suspected.
My 8v has been lowered (not sure what on, it's a bit of a nail in all honesty) but compared to the standard Evo I had it's like a go kart and actually more fun with it.
