Need second/replacement key for 2004 Punto
Discussion
As in the title really.
Bought a clean 2004 Punto from a dealer, but came with only one key, and I'd like another getting. (Yes HPI is clear, not stolen/recovered/seized)
The key we have is blue, full sized and works the door locks only (ie no remote plipper)
I imagine Fiat Main Dealer will want some ridiculous sum like (Key Price +£35) x2, + VAT +Sh1tEatingGrin Fee
Leeds/Bradford area.
Anyone done this successfully any another way?

Shouldn't be an issue with a 2004 car - it was only the older CODE I system that had the master key restriction.
I think a new key is about 80 quid + 1 hour labour to code it to the car.

Can I go elsewhere, or is the technology limited to franchisees?

Not sure about later ones, though.
Neither am I, but can't hurt to ask
I know your post applies to Alfa keys but I'm not up on Fiat stuff, although logically there should be similarities.wrinx
I've had cars with both generations of the CODE system - my Cinq. was a non-remote CODE I, my Marea HLX was a remote CODE I and the 156 is a remote CODE II.
There are no differences between the Fiat and Alfa keys, other than the colours and shapes.
It gets a bit more complicated for Stilo and later cars, though - as they use the same kind of key as VAG do.
