Hi all
My 156 V6 (51 plate) has started to get a problem with the clutch pedal intermittantly having a grating feel to it and it starting to stick momentarily on the way back out. It also bites quite high.

Am I looking at a new clutch or it this likely to be a cable or pedal problem?

The clutch pedal sticking sounds like the clutch slave cylinder which is about twenty quid for the part. The clutch biting high does sound like the clutch itself is worn as its hydrolic and self adjusting. I would get as much as you can out of your currant clutch then replace them both at the same time. How many miles have you done? Mine went at 100k. Ps ask your mechanic to check the rear crankshaft oil seal as its a known weak point and is easy to change when doing the clutch. Your looking at around £500 all in. Don't be alarmed if your clutch sticks abit when replaced, mine did for about 50 miles then was mint.

The clutch can probably wait, but get the water leak sean to ASAP, these engine are sensitive to owt like that and theres 2 bloomin headgaskets to go wrong! Good cars though had mine for 2 years and when its in a fast mood it still makes me smile!
