Fiat Brava 1.6 Leak

Hi, I have a little problem that I don't quite understand.
In the passenger footwell there's an oily slick of fluid (slight tinge of yellow colouring, oily, doesn't smell) but I can't see where it's coming from. I've hoovered out the drain hole in the engine bay in case it was that but it looks like it's something else. I took the carpet up and it's got a waterproof layer on the bottom which is completely unbroken and dry so it doesn't look as if the fluid can be coming up from the floor. The carpet itself is not wet around the edges, just the center. I've also noticed a similar fluid is leaking from the passenger side area in the engine compartment
The only thing I can think of that looks like that kind of fluid is brake fluid, but the reservoir is still pretty full, as are the other containers, including the engine oil. There are two sump-like compartments in the engine bay, one being the actual sump under the engine, but the other one is also in the passenger side of the engine bay near the ground. Any ideas what this is, what the fluid might be and how it might be getting in?
