Lancia Evo Stress cracks

Hi All

After scrapping my Evo 1 this year at a loss of 7k..... I'm after another one :-).

Are there any owners out there with experience of stress cracks? as this was the main issue with mine... I'll be steering well clear of any cracked
cars again..... and ones with rot under and around the air intake/gearbox mounting.....

Anyone selling a good car? and like John W say treat your first Grale like your first GF and your second like your wife :-)

sadly yes :-(
my old evo 1 was mint - think allan wieltmeister/wrc development who's on the porsche forum on here (uktrucks?) still has it? was traded in with him against my old porsche. no stress cracks ;-) which to be honest these days is rare..

You are correct in that the car was mint with no cracks. I sold it recently to Terry Keys for his eldest lad to use. Really miss the old girl. It was one of thos "once in a lifetime" cars.

As ever I'm sure Terry could be convinced to part with it if enough dosh was on offer.

Cant believe you scrapped that one...

Last i heard you were having the engine rebuilt.. with a bit of 'light welding' to repair rust.

Was the shell really that bad?

FE springs & 17 inch wheels can exacerbate stress cracking , but yours was standard no?

How many miles/kms did she have on her?

Have a word with 'DJC' he might be still selling his (he keeps changing his mind) its a Verde York and in great condition! think it used to belong to 'Nervous'

Yeah honest Im "selling" it.

Translation ... its up for sale cos the wife tells me it has to be, but if nobody buys it, well, thats not my fault is it? Matt dont you dare tell you wife I said that or Im toast!

No stress cracks on mine, engine lovely and strong but not played with it so it isnt producing silly power.

Thanks for the info chaps, yes mine looked stunning but sadly the cracks became a nightmare so safer too scrap rather than push onto
another owner... + the engine failed 4k + 4/5k to fix cracks... so broke for spares.
