Hi guys,

My 17 plate Alfa is due for it's second service, i'm told it needs a full service so will be the best part of £400.
Does this sound about right to everyone? Would be interested to hear what others paid.

Cheers

We've a 16 plate Giulietta and the second service was £420, I got quotes from the dealer we bought it from and two independents both of whom knew me from servicing my cars previously. Ridiculous for a relatively run of the mill hatchback. Still buying it when the lease ends though smile

Unless you’ve done significant mileage in the last few years and need a cam belt/water pump... it should be fairly cheap?

What does the owners manual say.. have a look at the service schedule bit that Alfa publish to advise you what needs doing and when at a minimum. Then ask whomever has quoted you, why (they want £420./ to change the oil and check a few bits and bobs - perhaps there is more to it).

Thanks for the reply guys.
Just called an independent, they said they could do it for £225 + VAT so quite a saving.
I'm worried about the warranty though, i was under the impression that in the warranty period all services had to be done by a main dealer.
The independent said the warranty would be fine as long as they are VAT registered and use original parts, is that correct?

Which indy was it - you're a bit of a trip from me, but not too far to make a £200 saving on the next main service!

They don't even have to be genuine parts, they only need to be genuine or equivalent quality, but the service must be carried out in accordance with manufacturer's specification.
