Alfa 159 Boot won’t open.

Good Morning,

My Alfa 159 Ti boot won’t open. Any ideas?

It won’t unlock with key fob or with the badge button on the boot.

I think there is a black cord you can pull to release it.
Do the rear seats fold down?
If so get a torch, fold them down and have a good look about.

Had the battery off recently?

It's a configuration item in the menu that can get turned off. Called "separate boot lock" or similar.

Is there an internal button near the rear view mirror?

OK. Boot stuck shut. This is for a 159 SW, should be the same for a saloon. Both mine are later so only unlock electrically.



You are going to need to move this lever...



...like this. From inside the boot.

A torch and the ability to fit into small spaces might help.

The string mentioned earlier is for the fuel flap cover on the SW, don’t know if it’s the same on a saloon.
