Alfa Romeo GTV Cup
Discussion
After posting up in the Porsche section about my new (to me) 968 Sport, I thought I'd drop by here to say hi too.
This is my daily. A 2001 Alfa Romeo GTV Cup (#60 of 155 rhd Uk cars).
I've owned it for a year and a half and its been great (only killing one battery to blemish it's record). Currently has 102k miles on the clock but drives like new. The sound of the Busso V6 is absolutely glorious!

Fantastic looking example, very clean! Love the cup seats prefer them to the standard Momo leather chairs.
I have a Gtv V6, just turned over 80k, had it three years and not had any issues at all, runs perfectly and agreed the noise is addictive. Mine has had a few popular mods, Q2, gta cams, gta fly and clutch, Koni dampers, equal length downpipes and alfaholics stainless.
Have you made any changes to the cup? With their values rising does it matter if they have upgrades or stay standard?

It's completely standard apart from a Ragazzon back box for extra Grrrrr.
I have toyed with the idea of a quad Wizard exhaust but having just bought Porsche 968 and also having a Supercharged Eunos Roadster and an aging Range Rover (which gobbles money) funds are tight!
It will be interesting to see how mods affect values of Cups in future. Not much as long as they are limited to exhaust/Q2 I suspect due to rarity.
My car was actually a Cat C 6 years ago as prices were low then, so a wing and bumper replacement meant it was 'uneconomical' to repair! Meant I got it for a good price and in 10 years time when there will be even fewer of them (67 currently taxed) will hardly make a difference I suspect.

Quite the garage! We have an S2000 too - i expect the comparison between the Eunos and GTV will be similar to the driving differences with the S2k....!?I have toyed with the idea of a quad Wizard exhaust but having just bought Porsche 968 and also having a Supercharged Eunos Roadster and an aging Range Rover (which gobbles money) funds are tight!

Quad exhausts look great - thought about one myself but they need the rear apron too to look finished properly i think....
968s are only going one way too and i suspect you are right re the Cat C - even now i wouldn't think it would harm value very much given the rarity!
Love S2000s! I was actually looking for one of those when I ended up buying the Boxster. This may cause me to be burned as a heretic if anyone from the Porsche forum reads this, but I think I made a mistake on that occasion, as I found the 986 utterley unrewarding as a drivers tool and on an emotional level. Just didn't connect with it at all. It was like a Bosche oven compared to Weber BBQ in comparison to my previous Porsches. Both great quality and both can cook food really well but cooking food well on the BBQ is more involving, exciting and you look forward to it. I don't get excited by my Bosche oven. Its just an appliance. Thats pretty much how I felt about the Boxster.
9x out of 10 I picked up the keys to my Supercharged Eunos Roadster instead.

Were you at Rebellion Brewery on Saturday? I work there, saw a Red Cup with a similar Reg. No. I've got a GTV V6 that I use as a daily too! This is my daily. A 2001 Alfa Romeo GTV Cup (#60 of 155 rhd Uk cars).
