I called round to see a friend of mine yesterday who's wife had purchased a new Fiat 500L, she's very pleased with it apart from the fact that the instruments and menu keeps defaulting back to Italian. She has selected English from the menu options but the car persists in changing back to Italian. This includes all the menus, speedometer in km/h, etc.

Has anyone come across this before and if so have you managed to fix the problem.

I appreciate that Fiat is Italian and historically electrics has never been their strong point, but even so, it's well screwed together, appears to be well made, so just needs this gremlin fixing.

I ought to mention that the dealer have had it back in the workshop but can't fathom out what is going on either - is this an isolated incident or are other cars suffering from a dual personality?

Any help much appreciated - either that or we all take up a language course in Italian wink

Too late, and much as I do enjoy listening to an Italian supercar, I'm not so sure about attempting to figure out what the dashboard is on about when it is displayed in Italian - here's an idea, change the language settings on your iPhone to another language that you don't speak and see what you think wink

As for the dealer, well... is about as much use as a...
