Which ODB II App??
Discussion
Hi Guys,
I've just picked up one of these:
http://www.gearbest.com/obd-diagnostic-tools/pp_32...
Cheap enough for a punt to see if it works as I'm looking to try and reset the airbag warning light on my GTV (*somebody* moved the seat when the ignition was on...) and wondered if this might do the trick.
Can anyone recommend a decent app that will do the trick and connect to it? It's wifi, rather than BT, which I guess shouldn't be a problem but I've no idea what I'm looking for.
Happy to pay for the right app so doesn't need to be a free download.
Thanks!

I'm not sure how you'd connect it to your wifi network once it's in the ODB socket. I use one of these http://www.gearbest.com/car-gadgets/pp_130571.html which connects by bluetooth to my phone.
I use the free version of Torque https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.... and if you can solve the connectivity issue then that's the one to go with.

You don't need to connect it to your wifi network. It's a bit like a wifi hot-spot - you'll see it listed under the wifi networks on you phone - connect to it and then start your app. Torque on android or something like dashcommand on iOS.
Don't know if you'll be able to reset and airbag light though - that's usually (?) manufacturer specific thing and not always accessible through generic ODBII readers.
My old 2004 GT would activate the airbag light when the passenger seat was moved sometimes due to a loose connector right under the front of the seat base. A bit of a wiggling/pushing connector back in place and the light would go out again.
Goodluck

Thanks guys.
I've downloaded torque but only had 5 minutes yesterday to try and locate the connector and suspect it's behind a plastic panel I'll need to remove.
The airbag thing is a classic GTV issue. It sounds much the same as the GT except, I think moving the connector changes the resistance or something, which throws up a fault which you can't clear without resetting it, annoyingly.
I'm pretty sure torque won't let me get at it but it will at least let me check the unit works and the maybe I cagey a model specific app that might work. Happy to pay for such a thing as the bloody car is like a disco with the warning lights!
