Machine shops recommendations for Nord heads?
Discussion
Can anyone recommend a machine shop who has knowledge/experience of working on Nord heads? I have a little 1300 I would like to do some work on. What's the perceived wisdom on 3 angle versus 2 angle (30 then 75 degree) seats?
Also with respect to cams, are people still reliant on old C&B profiles, or has anyone in the UK used Richard Jemison's designs?
There is a lot of stuff available from the usual suspects, but some of the pricing is a tad optimistic. With respect to cam information, I can't get some basic profile & timing info I'm after, so that kinds of rules a purchase out, as I'm not willing to buy on the basis of "it works".

Yes to all the above.

Just don't tell him not to rush.
He's just done my 1300. As well as crank and flywheel.
I'm not bothering with C&B over priced. I'm using a 10548 cam for inlet only.
Have a read of these....... They are 1300 specific;

Jamie, thanks for the recommendation and links to the AlfaBB threads.
A few more questions you may be able to help with.
1) Do you run a 123 USB programmable dizzy? If so, what sort of curve are you using? What max advance are you running?
2) I presume you've switched to an electric fan setup? If so, what type of fan did you go for (size and push/pull)? What did you do in terms of switching this on/off?
3) Are you aware of whether full radius trumpets are available for 40mm Webers? I can only find versions to suit the 45mm barrelled DCOEs. What do you do for filtration?
4) Per Richard Jemison's site, there are 2 versions of the 10548 cam. Which are you planning to use?
cheers

1) not yet, never had probs on points prior to rebuild, but might, it will be set up on a rolling road anyway, so curve will be chosen on basis of best results.A few more questions you may be able to help with.

2) not yet, but it will be a kenlowe 11" pull type. Automatic. Rad is good, and waterways all cleared in rebuild, it never had heat issues before, so not paranoid enough to fit a manual override.
3) k&n pancake filters...... Tight squeeze due the the lower head height, but they fit, work, look cool, and filter properly.
4) been looking for the 1054800320051, but couldn't find one.....still looking, but build will use another 10548 until I do.
