Im currently looking to get a 500 abarth, have found one that's close to my budget limit, but it has a sunroof. I hear they cut into the headroom a fair bit.

Question for owners please, as its a fair old drive away to view....

At 5"11", is my head gonna hit the top?

I can't imagine so. I'm 6'3'' and had a 500 hire car with sunroof and still had ample headroom. My other half has a Panda 100HP with the sky dome roof and I still have loads of headroom.

My Sport has the fixed glass roof with blind and at 5'10" I'm not near hitting my head at all. Not sure how much the electric version drops the headlining down however, so very much a try before you buy.

I'm a short arse at 5ft 5" but husband is 5,11" and doesn't have any problems in my passenger seat. If you are planning on putting a couple of 6ft supermodels in the back you might struggle but I think you'll be fine in the front.
I'm rather jealous I add, I have the 1.2 lounge and covet the Abarth.

Thanks all. Some good info, sounds like its worth an hour drive to go and see the one I wasn't.

Pullip, I'm fresh out of supermodels, back will be strictly for my 5 year old daughter.
And if it makes you feel better I have to sell a rather nice Lotus Elise to get the 500

Ahh you'll be fine then wink

I imagine you are gutted to get rid of the Elise, not on the same level by a long shot by I sold my very much loved TR7 2 weeks ago, partly to fund the 500 and partly to put money towards daughters first car. Lump in my throat as it went.

Some words of advice.
I believe the red ones chip a lot easier than other colours (and certainly the red ones I looked at showed some nasty chips), check the door handles are tight (prone to falling off!), check around the chrome of the front bumper for any signs of paint chipping from the plastic (another reasonably common thing). Cosmetic stuff I realise but always worth having a good look.

Do come back and show us when you buy it. They seem to suck you in do the 500's smile

Thanks for the advice, appreciated as I didn't know that. Sorry to hear about the TR7, which is a true classic (I loved them and Stags as a boy, definitely influenced me to get the Lotus).

But hey as you say, time for a change!
