Hi guys-

Have a 2021 GLC 63 with 36k miles. Bought at 29k miles.

Brake light came on, dealer recommended front and rear pads, and rotors on the front.

I negotiated on the pads up front, and got a price I could live with (for dealer prices...)

On the front rotors, the tech said "rotors have a little bit of grooving, not too bad, reasonable lip on the outside, and they measure 34.99 and 34.97MM, Min spec is 33MM."

I declined to have the rotors replaced, as it is obviously a very large marked up dealer bill.

I only do about 6k miles each year and probably will change the car in Jan 26 latest (so another 10k miles under my ownership).

I'm assuming I can run these pads and rotors and not have to worry I am going to prematurely destroy the pads? As long as I can get 10k miles out of them, they'll be the dealers problem on trade in.

Right decision? Or should I be looking at getting the rotors replaced?

I'm US based these days... but for your curiosity.

Pads were $579 negotiated down to $456, labor was $269 and other random line items were $55 for a total of $780 + Tax of ~10% so ~$850 or 670 GBP.

Rotors and pads on the front would have been ~$4.8k all in or 3.8K GBP smile
