MB Service History - What's it Worth?

Bought a MB vehicle with "full service history" and service book stamped accordingly by MB main dealers.
In the real world, two different MB Main Dealers have put the incorrect oil in my vehicle AND astonishingly recorded the fact in the service book!!! I have contacted the MB main dealers concerned and they have never responded...not even with an apology.
Now the plot thickens...
This week, I have had the car fully serviced and had the service parts that were removed from the vehicle, inspected by a reputable and acknowledged MB expert.
As you may know, many MB OEM parts are date stamped with build details.
In my case: -
The engine should have been filled with MB specified low sulphate oil...it was not.
The engine air filter had never been changed.
The fuel filter had never been changed.
The twin cabin air filters (not the carbon ones) had never been changed.
The service record shows that ostensibly these parts have been changed by MB main dealers...and paid for by the previous owner.
My advice, to anyone having service work done (particularly if there is nothing wrong with the car), would be to give the Workshop Service Manager a cardboard box and ask them to place the old service items removed from your vehicle in the box, as you would like to inspect their condition prior to their safe disposal.
Otherwise, your full MB service history may be of no real use, except when selling the car to someone as naive as me, who thought a fully stamped MB service book was an assurance of high quality maintenance.

Unless I had to, I wouldn't entrust my Merc's care to my local MB Dealer. Their sales are very good, but service department leave alot to be desired.
That kind of speaks volumes in itself
Oddly enough, my local Audi dealer of the same dealer name offers a fantastic service....
