ML270 CDI Oil Leak

Hi all,
My mate has an ML270 CDI which was recently serviced and over filled with oil. The oil warning light came on after some driving and upon inspection of the dip stick it was showing oil above the high marker (by a centimetre or so). Subsequent to this the vehicle went back for some oil to be drained off, but now the mechanics are claiming that there is an oil leak!
From looking at the quote for repair, it would seem that a bunch of sealing components and pipes have popped (perhaps as the oil pressure has risen as the engine heats up).
Thoughts? Is this actually their fault?

FYI – the response from the mechanics is as follows:
The technician did drain some oil off, your level may be reading as it is if some oil is trapped in the intercooler. The oil leak from your vehicle stems from the oil system cooler pipes and these need to be replaced, see attached quote & I have given discount where I can.
The cure obviously to stem this leakage is to have these pipes Replaced, The pipes need to come from Germany and can take up to 10 days. Also the technician tells me there are slight signs of oil marks around the Turbo which seem to be dried oil staining, and slight oil around the pas pump Which appears to be dripping onto it from the cooler pipes. The top engine breather which releases pressure from the crankcase is partially blocked this needs to be changed as well as the pipes this also goes a long way in oil leak

Who allegedly over-filled the vehicle with engine oil and how? A reputable MB technician would check the exact volume and type of engine oil required and fill accordingly?
