Front Grille

Can anyone help?
Just ordered 2 x E350CDI Sport Estates for work and i am sure i have seen this model with the three bar grill and big badge and no bonnet star but the salesman says this is not possible. Was i imagining it?

I have no doubt it is available on the aftermarket using dodgy Far East parts. However, on the E-Class, only the proper grille is available. You may be confused with the C-Class, Sport and AMG derivatives of which come with the hideous, in yer face grille.

I don't know where Mercedes is going with this. Classically, only sports cars had the grille-mounted start (the SL, SLC and SEC, all of which Mercedes considered to be sports cars) with all others using the proper grille. Now almost none of the cars has the proper grille, only some C-Class vehicles and the E- and S-Class cars.

You can buy them as aftermarket parts on e-bay, however IMO they look very obviously aftermarket and are hideous and don't suit the car at all, but it's your car!

thanks for the replies all - more are welcome.
There is no way i would fit an aftermarket grille on a £50k motor.
Its just i,m sure there was one in the showroom.
The bonnnet is different anyway to acomadate the different grille, so i think you would need a
bonnet and grille of a coupe.
