CLS 500 Engines

Hello,
I signed the dotted line (as good as) under a 2006 CLS 500 with all the kit, as they do come fairly accessable these days (gaz gussler tax and low mpg, of course...)...
Now I found out that apart from the changes they did with the facelift in 08 they also changed the engine in late 06 - see below

Now I obviously can read the data myself, but I am not really interested in the (theoretical) faster 0-62, but the torque difference is quite substantial
Is there a difference in day to day driving (I have tried the car I am going for and a couple of similar aged ones as well as diesels and I was quite happy with the power delivery) but I would be gutted if somebody told me the 5.5 is a different league as regarding driveability and usability (especially as early 07 cars do not command a large premium)
Has somebody drive both cars and can share
Aslo has somebody derisricted a 500 and can tell me about results and cost???
