Widest tyres that can be fitted to a SLK320 (R170)

Does anyone know what the widest tyres are (rear)that can be fitted safely to a SLK320 (R170)? 8.5J wheels

I had 255/30 (I think!) 18s on my old R170 rear. I don't think they could go wider. They cleared ok though.

Nice one thanks for that, I have picked up a set of R171 17" wheels very cheap in superb condition and I have two brand new 255/45/17 that I hoped would fit the back
