E class - what to look out for - R reg
Discussion
Seen a local W210(?) R reg 240 Advantgarde privately for sale for about £2.5k
90k on clock, amg suspension and FULL Merc history (never outside of merc network).
Are these a big no-no? I know Merc had quality issues around late 90s/00s but if it's got this far (assuming no rust) then it's a good one?
The AMG suspension - does this mean crap ride quality? The car doesn't look chav'd up or anything, all tidy and standard etc.
What else do I need to look out for? I don't want something that will bankrupt me but can't find a proper checklist online, what I have found would take all day to read and even longer to check

I'm also looking at Volvo S80s, Omegas etc. but open to the "right" car for my limited budget (it's a 2nd car of sorts) as they're little around of anything.

Front wings, rear arches
Front top suspension mounts - can fail completely and springs pop off.
Bonnet.
Bootlid/tailgate.
Doors (including tops under the sealing rubber)
Roof.
Many (not all) are rusty, some (with MBSH) have been repaired by Merc - initially they used replacement panels but latterly, as the number of cars and costs climbed they started to "repair". In many cases of repair the rust has returned.
