Hello, advice please
Discussion
Hi, I know you probably hear this quite a lot but would appreciate the advice.
I am likely to be defecting from the Jaguar Forum. The xj8 sport has to go as it isn't that practical.
Has anyone any knowledge of a c class 230 kompressor?
I am looking at possibly N reg as they are about the same value as the Jag.
Any quirks or things I should look out for, or is a C240/C280 A better bet.
Thanks in advance.

My friend has a 230clk and its has had to have a supercharger valve replaced and the engine pulley belts changed, it's a V redg car.
Engine 2,295-cc DOHC 16-valve inline-4, cast-iron cylinder block, alloy head.
Net power 185 hp @ 5,300 rpm
Net torque 200 lb-ft @ 2500-4800rpm
Compression ratio 8.8:1
Engine 2,799-cc SOHC 18-valve V-6, high-pressure die-cast alloy cylinder block, alloy heads.
Net power 194 hp @ 5,800 rpm
Net torque 195 lb-ft @ 3,000-4,800 rpm
Compression ratio 10.0:1
The v6s are sweeter in the E class than the 4 cylinders particularly under hard acceleration, never driven a c class v6.
Fuel economy isn't much better with the 230k compared to the v6.
The manual 230k sports are supposed to have a fairly mediocre gearbox.
If the price is right I would try for a 280, better standard kit, silky smooth engine and auto was standard, the tip auto is good giving pretty good manual control when you wish it and silky auto changes. The torquey V6 gives big car feel in the e class and probably the fuel economy will be alright because you will have to use less throttle to go eveywhere, the superchargers increase fuel consumption when they are brought in, this is certainly the case on the S55 economy just goes out the window.
All lovely cars no matter what you choose.
