W210 Estate, Are They As Bad As They Say?

Hi all,

expat living in france and looking at buying a w210 estate on the german market as they are so much cheaper there, more plentiful and also in better, cared after condition. However I've read a lot of things about them being not very reliable, rust buckets, loads of problems etc and was wondering if any existing w210 owners can give me their opionions as to whether this is true or not?

As an example here is one such car i am looking at w210)

Any info/guidance on this matter would be gratefully received. BTW I am also considering a BMW E39 estate as an alternative.....
