no warning light, just the normal green dipped headlight indicator within the dash console.

Not on mine there is not, I did think there should be but can find no mention in the hand book.

edit to add that there is a blue light to tell me if i have them on full beam but if they come on in dipped I have no way of telling and its caught me out a couple of times. Once in the fog when i asumed they had come on but had not.

When you switch on dipped headlights normally turning the knob fully clockwise do you not get a green indicator light in dash next to where the full beam light would be?

In my car the indicator light shown when the dipped headlights have switched on through the auto setting is the same as when I've switched them on manually, i.e. you're never left in doubt whether or not the dipped healights are on or not. I'd assume all models would have a similar dash?

I also get the green light on the dash come on.

Also, my lights come on in the daytime for no reason!

I just read your profile, you should be taking it easy and not worrying about trivial things like this! wink
