I have heard good reports about these diffs and will be fitting one to my CLK 55 soon. You can buy one from Quaife directly, but only if you can identify which one fits your car. It will be different to mine possibly. Have you spoken with Matt at Quaife, he might be able to help.
Cheers, Jon.

If I knew which Quaife ATB would fit my car I would get one tomorrow. I need to remove my diff and measure the internals. This is a bit of a bind to then find that Quaife don`t have one in stock. Birds will know which one it is, but probably won`t let you have that info as they want to sell you one themseves, understandably. If I could get a spare diff and measure and then fit the LSD to that it would save me disabling my car meanwhile.

I have my slk 55 diff in bits on the bench as we speak and am fitting an atb, fortunately I got the right one. The MB diff situation is indeed a pain as they wont tell you anything and infact quaife are stuffy about selling direct. Anyway I have figured the differences now after months of detective work. PM me your chassis number, model year and a pic of the diff cover end on plus driveshaft pot at the diff and I will help you. Still your risk though !

Hi BrabusK8 - Yes I have a quafe LSD fitted to my CLK55 and it does make a difference on track days! Birds autos did the job as well as fitting H&R anti sway bars front stiffer by 109% and rear by 167%). The changes have made the car stiffer at the rear and so dialled out a lot of the under-steer, and the LSD has made the ESP much less intrusive allowing more power to be applied at the limit of grip – and just beyond – so together the car is much more enjoyable when driven hard.
