what can i say apart from it was mental. the throttle response was razor sharp just no stoping of the power delivery. my mate has a porsche 997turbo and he reckons it feels faster than that when he drove it. hope that helps.

More torque so it would 'feel' faster, but it's not.smile

hi

My E55 is a K8 Brabus, running on 530 bhp, all they have done was upgraded the pulleys and then remaped to 570-580 bhp via dms. i have always been a brabus man, but there not cheap lol.

Had a long chat with DMS about the C63 last week.

I was curious how their remap got another 100bhp out of the V8 - given the most they could get from an RS4 was about 50bhp - until they told me the power at the wheels was nearer 500bhp than the stated 451bhp.

Anyway, it seems they use the same software from the SL, bringing it up to approx 550bhp and a shed load of torque.

Seduced by the numbers, I signed up. But then Mike told me the engineer would come to my house rather than me go to them. Has anyone else had this experience?- I have always taken my car in and hooked it up on the rolling road. I guess you just have to trust the quoted figures.

To be fair, Mike said I could pop down and do a run on the dyno whenever I liked and would offer a full refund if i was at all unhappy. Faultless customer service and a nice guy.

Will report back once I've had it done.

sorry to drag up an old thread, but how did this go ? and if you did go through with it, how much is the conversion roughly ? there arent any prices on the DMS website.

Im reasearching C63 conversions at the moment, and interested to know how you got on. From my understanding, the main reason why the C63 is so easily tuned, is because it uses a deliberately de-tuned 6.2 engine as found in the other AMGs. In the E class, this makes 500 bhp + plus, but AMG de-tuned this to 450 in the C class. For tuners its very easy to undo this work, resulting in a very easy 100 bhp gain biggrin

Does anyone know what Brabus do that DMS aren't able to do with regards to just a power upgrade? I know Brabus can put all sorts of bells and whistles on the car but i also heard that they use DMS to upgrade power. True or not?

DMS..The C63 wil be taken to around 520 BHP and increased torque by 45 lb/ft. We remove the top speed limiter and also insert the throttle mapping from the CLK Black series which provides for far better mid range response. The upgrade is undetectable by Mercedes service and diagnostic equipment and can be carried out at your location. Cost £1200+vat. (24/03/2012)

Hi.

I have looked in to C63 performance upgrades and received the following info:

VARTH
Stage 1 (525hp) ECU re-map and air filters €2,290 + VAT.
Stage 2 (565hp) same plus range manifold and sports cats €7,700 + VAT

DMS
ECU re-map 520hp and +45lb/ft £1,200 + VAT

BRABUS
Stage 1 (520hp) ECU re-map and air filters circa €5,000 + VAT.
Stage 2 (530hp) same plus sports cats circa €9,000 + VAT

Not surprisingly the names are more expensive, but the difference is dramatic, when the product with regards to the ECU re-mapping seems to be exactly the same.

I was hoping to go for Varth, but based on the above will be heading to DMS as the differnce in price can't be ignored.

Regards
Rob

Just to add - DMS guarantee for 3 years that the remap is undetectable to MD dealers so it wont invalidate your warranty.

Taking my C55 to them and that was my main concern as it has a tier one warranty!

friend had a 535d dms told him the dealer would not be able to tell it had been modified, turns out the dealer did, cost him a lot of money when they declined some major under warranty work!
