What do I fit to my 51 E class 320TDI Advantgarde Estate after just aquiring a set of AMG wheels!

Need 4 tyres!!!

255/35/18 Rear

225/40/18 Front

Just looked on the tyre finder on here!

Rear

Continental Sport Contact 3 (Mercedes)
Customer Rating: 5 Star
255/35 R18 Y (94)Reinforced
£180.72

Michelin Pilot Sport 2
255/35 R18 Y (94)Reinforced
£191.36

Front

Continental Sport Contact 3 (Mercedes)
225/40 R18 Y (92)Reinforced
£116.81

Whay are these Merc recommended?

Whats the reinforced bit? Run flat?

So which tyres should I fit?

Whats a good price?

What compromise is there on ride quality?

Any advice really appreciated!

I didn't get fantastic wear from the original factory fit Continentals on my Merc, switched to Michelins and they have outlived the Conti's by 3,000 miles so far and there's still loads of tread left. Michelins from experience tend to be one of the most expensive tyres but I've found they're worth it for the extended wear.

Can't help with your reinforced question, have no idea!

Reinforced does not mean runflat. I think it means they are suitable for heavy vehicles, although the load index of 94 suggests otherwise. The MO compound (Mercedes Only) means the rubber is especially tailored for Mercedes cars. I doubt there is much difference.

Very good price for the Contis.

Michelin are the best but they are so expensive.
