factory collection 4 c63amg
Discussion
just ordered my second c63amg which will be ready in september black with black leather, performance pack,19inch wheels etc etc.what i would like 2 know is has anyone been 2the factory 2 collect thier car in germany and is it a worth while experiance or should i just collect it from my local dealer.
According to Mercedes website:
What better start to life with your new Mercedes-Benz than to collect it from the factory? We'll fly you to collect your new car from one of the Mercedes-Benz factories in Germany and then afterwards you can drive it home through some of Europe's most beautiful countryside.
Building a Mercedes-Benz is a labour of love for us. When we have finished one we want the new owner to feel as attached to their new vehicle as we do. And that is why we recommend you take a few days 'automotive leave' to get to know your new arrival.
You'll be shown around the factory where you will find out just how much time, attention and technology is put into building your car.
Because it is such a great idea, many people are choosing to do it - around 1,000 from the UK last year alone. And there is no extra cost.

Every customer we've had back has said it was a great experience and the booking team seem to accommodate nearly every request with regards to timing etc. AMGMaster how come you've changed the 1st one? Are your dealer taking it back in px?
no mcar im still keeping it just wanted a black one with the performance pack. i will give the silver one to the wife 4 a bit.Didn't do the Factory Collection for the C63 but have done it in Bremen for the SL and Stuttgart for the S Class, can 100% reccomend it as it unreal seeing the whole build process and as mentioned by MB pay for it all so why not, they even pay for your insurance on the way back.
The only thing i think you will find hard is sticking to 85mph on the Autobahn's hahahaha
Did you get a good deal from the Dealer??

yes 2shan they gave me a good deal, but i think it has more 2do with the down turn in business more than anything else. so would i go 2 the actual amg factory 2 collect the car?
do you know how far the nurbergring is from the factory and do you think it would be a good idea to pay it a visit?
one other question that i have is it quite a straight forward route back, because ive never driven in europe before.
thanks a lot amgmaster

Sorry not sure if you actually collect from Affalterbach the AMG factory or whether they only assemble the components there?
I am sure someone else will know?
As for routes back there are loads. Really depends on how many days you want to take?
Have done the route via Amsterdam before which is quite nice and also done the Brussels and France route, if you plan it properly there are lovely places to visit and some Champagne and Wine shopping to be done on the route back.
Try posting in the Events Roadtrips and Meetings Forum there is bound to be some well travelled PH'ers there.
Either way enjoy the drive back.
