Hi guys, I've got a leak in the passenger footwell of my 97 C240 saloon, it drips down from under the dash. It just started yesterday, any suggestions? The footwell is a puddle of water now especially with this dreadful weather. All help gratefully received.

Thanks, Aubrey

it's a long shot as I don't know how similar the location of parts on the two cars are... but this used to happen to my Focus, and was down to water ingress through an incorrectly fitted pollen filter (happened every time Ford serviced the car), water would run down the drains between the bottom of the windscreen/top of bonnet and find its way inside through the filter which was fitted somewhere below on/near the bulkhead.

Lift the bonnet and clear the drain pipes - they're beneath the windscreen. They block and allow water in the air vents.

Had a similar problem on my c200 which was a perished windscreen seal. Auto glass replaced it and all was well again.

I did lift up the bonnet but couldn't see any drain pipes, what exactly should I look for? Do I need to remove anything first? Thanks.
