Dear`All,

Have recently purchased CLK cab 320 which I am very pleased with, but being new to mercs am not sure where to get it serviced? Any suggestions/experience would be most welcome. I live in SW London.

thanks

If the south London dealers are as bad as north London I feel very sorry for you.

I have used MB Hampstead (no where near Hampstead - actually Cricklewood) and MB Edgware Road out in Colindale. I'm afraid to say I can't recommend either. They are certainly better than I remember from my first experience of MB ownership in the mid-90's. They are however loathed to loan you cars, when they do I get A class in return for an SL, and biggest problem is that they are unable to fix niggling minor faults.

Last year I needed a car for 6 months and managed to locate one at Mercedes Gatwick - can't tell you what their service dept is like but I must say that their sales team was excellent.

Sorry I can't help you much - happy servicing.

A bit of a trip from London, but the people I use are very good. If you don't mind going to Newbury, then MB of Newbury (used to be Savernake), on the A4 about 2 mins from M4 jct 13 is very good.

I've been going there for years. Originally with my 300TE, and now with my E55. The service is good, the bills are reasonable, and they don't rip you off or try to tell you that you need extra work done.

They also do a decent cup of coffee

My SLK320 is serviced under the M-B contract system. When I picked it up after its first service last week, I was somewhat surprised that it hadn't been cleaned and valeted as that used to be standard with my Prelude.

Are M-B services supposed to include cleaning and valeting? If not, why not?? Honda can do it...

Must it be a MB dealer or would you consider a specialist? If the latter, I am told that George Fraser is a 'good guy'.
