Mercedes Benz Servicing

Hi there,

Is anybody aware of a recommendable Mercedes independant garage (non main dealership) for servicing - within reasonable distance of the Godalming (Surrey) area please?

My old Merc doesn't justify the expense of main dealer but I still want a quality service by somebody who knows what they're doing.

Any help offered would be much appreciated.

A lot of people on the Merc forums (myself included) use him - nice trip down and then you can nosey around Portsmouth while the car is being serviced then a 10 min train ride back

Chap I was going to source a bmw from contacted me to ask my advice re a buying a lemon of an early SLK without proper reserach.

He collected it, the dash was lit up like a christmas tree and autobox knackered - he got an eye watering quote from main dealer for works on the car which obviously had no warranty and was out of manufacturers/dealers cover period.

Then and only then he asked my advice.

I always keep my ear to the ground and read up re trade and used car buying stuff so I was able to recommend him

Basically George is an ex police workshop and ex mercedes guy whose gone independent. Spoken toi him on phone before re buying and selling CLKs, assocaited issues etc. Top bloke. George did all the work and stripped rebuilt the gearbox...saved the guy thousands and he promised to buy me a drink next time in area on business.......................Havent heard a thing from the guy since.

Collected a car from colchester and got chatting to indy home trader and George Fraser came up in conversation again as used by him.

Not used him but worth considering as well as others.
