My CLK appears to have the dongle for a motorola $somethingorother$ attached to it... is it easy or indeed even possible to have this changed to something a little more common... like for example a Nokia pop-port connector?

Didn't see this, sorry.

You can get hold of adapters. I can't remember where I came across them; google should help.

Is it facelift? If it is, it will have CANBUS, and you may be able to order a replacement official part for a few phones that were popular at the time (e.g., Nokia 6310i and so on). If it's pre-facelift, you won't get a new adaptor for an old phone.

However, you won't be able to get the newer Bluetooth module, it came in from the 02 models.

I take it you are looking for an adaptor that will hook up to charging, speakers, aerial/transmitter and if it's CANBUS it will be useable on the steering wheel controls? On my one there was a 6310 holder, but even then the MB interpreter for CANBUS wouldn't allow even the 6310i, which I couldn't use then.

My quickest solution was to replace the headunit with something that had Bluetooth and then you can use whatever newer phone you want. Alfie on MBClub.co.uk would be your best bet for any OEM parts and mods, so I would say ask there as well.
