A friend of mine ( well after i start this job he may not be a friend!!!) has asked me to take his 508 d and convert it into a motor home!

thing is its a 1985 and has been sat in a field for 3 1/2 years and he says it needs two new front panels a new window screen, brake lines re mapping and all the usual maintainance. basically he wants it turned into a palace

so i was wondering does anyone have any advice, tips, tricks that can help me at all????

They're worth a mint once they're done, is he into motor cross ?

The front panels cost nothing on them, but it's a bugger of a job. If you're attempting this in your spare time, I doubt you'll get it done before the end of the season by yourself.

A converted race bus costs a lot more than a van of the same vintage, and for a reason, the amount of labour you'll have to throw at it.

You'll need a mix of plumbing, electrical, mechanical and carpentry skills to get it A1

yea im not looking forward to the front panels because it involves taking the whole windscreen out dosen't it??

well ive got the mechanical skills just not the plumbing!!! and as for the carpentry skills the bloke im doing it for is a carpenter/joiner so that should be taken care of!!

i am going to do it by my self and in my spare time but i shall rope in a few friends and try to get it done before next season.
