£1000 C220 Sport manual?!!?
Discussion
I am thinking about getting an old cheap barge. Something that is not a guzzler, but certainly not a noisy little hatchback.
I spotted a trade car locally, a black C220 Sport manual [on Autotrader] for £995. Had a look and it seemed straight enough. It had the first few stamps, a couple of receipts and enough MOT's to convince me it had done a genuine 140k.
I nearly got a test drive, but was concerned initially about the couple of rusty bits on the arches, but a lot more in the boot. Under the bonnet the theme continued, the dip stick housing was rusty as were various exposed components. Those that were not rusty were covered in oil.
So here lies my dilemma. It is cheap for a sport with a 2.2 engine, but nothing is selling much at the moment. Should I leave it or is it worth a second look/drive?
Thanks in advance
