Hi all,

had my 2000 C200 serviced a few weeks back by an indy and he didnt remember to reset the service interval monitor. as it is proving difficult to go out back to him to get it done, is there anything i can do myself to reset it?

surely its a bit of button pushing on the instrument console, or does it involve hooking up a computer to it and resetting it (in which case, i would have to take it back)?

thanks

Found this on my trawl for information on ASSYST for my own recent queries, hope it helps -

RESETING ASSYST
Turn key to position '2'
Immediately press button 1 twice within 1 second (assyst displays)
Within 10 secs, turn key back to '0'
Press button 1 again and 'hold' whilst turning key back to '2'
Keep button pressed till sound is heard
Release button

ETA doh! looks like someone beat me to it, however mine was from a different source so the fact that they're identical should hopefully mean it works!

W203 or W202? In the manual for the 202 clear instructions are given in the "interior" section of the service manual....if you have a W202, PM me and I'll let you know...but I am guessing your car is a W203....

Thanks everyone for the help!

The pressing the reset button twice in a second and then for a further 10 seconds thing worked perfect!

Can't believe I went 3000 miles just 'accepting' that infuriating beep each time I started the car!!

Cheers folks

ETA: Oh and its a W202
