Hi, Has anyone replaced their normal buttons for paddles on the steering wheel? I know you could buy a later wheel complete, but just wondered if the paddles could be bought separately. I don`t mind the buttons too much which I use in conjunction with the stick for track driving. Just looking at a cheaper yet just as effective option?

I dont mind the buttons,I certainly would not go to the trouble of replacing them with paddles.

I've been following this thread on another forum.

Seems like a bit of a minefield but hopefully somebody will get it sorted.

Thanks davidn, seen this one before. I have a funny feeling that the paddle shifts can be fitted instead of the button shifts, WITHOUT changing the wheel. I will give MB a call today. I don`t want to go to great expense as I use the stick just as much as the buttons. It is similar to my previous E46 M3 CSL. On track the stick is better through the twisty bits.

Just checked with MB and the paddles are not available separately. The buttons are.

It is a proper minefield, most owners use them as a novelty and disregard them after a few months of ownership. They are nothing like Ferrari F1 paddles. I know from your posts you like to track your car, I don't think you'd get much joy from them TBH. I have heard of folk complaining the back can be thrown out from a spirited downshift whilst cornering.
