CLK DTM AMG suspension

Hi, I was looking at a CLK DTM AMG the other day and was wondering what rear axle they have used. Is it special for that car and has it been carried over to the Black Series or is it from another model eg SL with mods? Just interested in the engineering of this lovely beast. Was surprised to see that the bonnet and boot were steel? Maybe if they used an alternative it would mean crash testing all over again?
