From Wikipedia

Sportline Option
Mercedes-Benz offered an option called "Sportline" for the W124 and W201 chassis cars. This option was available in the North American market for the 1992-93 model year 190E 2.6, 1992-93 300E/300CE and 1993-95 E320/E320 Coupe. In the European market, however, the "SportLine" option was available for all body styles (e.g., estate/Estate, convertible) not just the Saloon or coupes. The option package included Sport Seating, wider low-profile wheels and tires, quick ratio steering, "Sportline" badges on the fender molding and transmission shifter, lowered ride height and most importantly a specially tuned suspension including specific springs, struts, swaybars, and bushings. Since the option can fit all body styles, it is popular upgrade that uses Mercedes-specific parts.

I used to have a 230E saloon with Sportline suspension.

As others have quoted the Sportline spec, I'll just note down some basic info:

Wider, lower profile tyres tyres (205/60 vs. 195/65 standard)
Wider alloy wheels (7.5J vs. 8J standard) - these can either be Mercedes's 15 hole or 8 design in 15"
The suspension was lower by 15-20mm
Thicker anti roll bar up front
Sportline badging on the front wings.

For the W124 saloon, the interior gained more supportive seats and the option to two individual rear seats in replacement of the normal bench seat. The estate gained more supportive seats front and rear, but kept the rear bench seat. All models had the option of a slightly smaller Sportline steering in either perforated leather or half wood/leather. There was also a leather gearknob with Sportline badging as a further option. The Coupe and Cabrio didn't appear to get Sportline seats.
For all body shells, there was an option on Sportline cloth, which had chequered seat inserts.

Verses the standard car, the Sportline cars certainly feel alot better, with a noticable reduction in body rolls and better grip.

Hope that info helps! smile

Just to make life more complicated there was also a Sports Chassis option that was fairly common. You could view it as being all the most important bits of the Sportline pack...

The visual giveaways are the ride height and the 205 tyres
