I've tried P Zero Neros; Avon ZZ3s and Dunlop SP9000s. The Dunlops have lasted 6 months and three track days - the Avons lasted longer but I didn't like them. Any suggestions? I was thinking about Toyo Proxes T1-R's or maybe Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's. I don't want to spend £200+ on Michelins but don't have any experience of Toyos or Vredesteins and I want somthing that lasts longer than 6 months!

Ive just bought a 2005 CLK55 and put 4 new tyres on it today as the existing tyres(Uniroyals)were quite worn.Although they were amongst the most expensive I had the Michelin Pilot Sport (Extra Load)fitted all round as Ive had these tyres on similar vehicles before and they have always served me well.Ive only driven the car a few hundred yards since they were fitted but will report back once Ive done a few miles on them.

for a few years now i've been running my C32 on Goodyear Eagle f1 gs d3's and have been very happy with them,
but this time when my tyres became worn and ready for replacing i decided I was ready for a change, so considered either going with Bridgestone RE050's or possibly Dunlop sp's, and checked on line to get a rough idea of the price ,
then I noticed that Goodyear had released a new tyre called the F1 asymmetric and the price was very similar to the GS D3's and that it's also recieved very good reviews
well so far I love them, they handle great in wet or dry weather they're quieter than the D3's and hopefully will last just as long so I can definitely recommend them thumbup.

at the moment they're only available in a few sizes but hopefully more will follow

check here to see if they have your size

I had Eagle F1 GSD3's on my C43, and now have Michelin Pilot Sport SP2's. Both are very good tyres, the Goodyears are probably best if you don't want to fork out too much.
Never had the Goodyear F1 assymetric, Timberman how do they compare to GSD3's?

I dont know many tyres that will last longer than 6 months if you're doing trackdays on them though. Have you considered having a 2nd set of wheels (in a smaller size than 19's) for track use? It will probably work out cheaper in the long run, and you'll save killing your road tyres so quickly.

although i haven't covered too many miles on them yet, so far i would have to say that the asymmetrics are the better tyre,
i really liked the GS D3's, but these grip just as well, are quieter and also work out about the same price wise + I like the tread pattern. bounce

I found a few more reviews here

Thanks chaps. I think I am going to go for Toyo Proxes T1-R's but at the following sizes with new 18 wheels 265/40/18/9.5 rear and 235/35/18/8.5 front.

This compares to the standard 255/40/18/8.5 and 225/35/18/7.5 set up and the current 265/35/19/9.5 rear and 235/30/19/8.5 front I am running now.

Any thoughts are comments?
