E320cdi, What do you think of the 7 speed merc box?

Recently changed my E320cdi (Current model but first of its kind) for the latest spec sport model E320, pretty muchknew what I was getting so didn't bother with a testdrive. Great car but, the gearbox is a shunty peice of carp compaired to the old 6 speeder, often dropping down gears when slowing down in traffic so roughly on several occasions I thoought I had been hit from behind! Anybody else with similar misgivings, or is there likely to be a fault on my car?

Also whilst I'm moaning, its nowhere near as fast as the old one, & is sluggish turning over on the cold mornings we are currently having!

I outdragged a new saloon recently in my W210 E320 cdi estate , mine is chipped but it wasnt even close and he was trying.

I understand they have over 220hp compared to my chipped "claimed" 240ish but as i said it was even close.
