Fingers Crossed new purchases.
Discussion
Bought two virtually new 57 reg mercs yesterday from Mercedes direct Caterham.
Black CLK cabriolet 280 with all the toys
Silver 7 seater R class.
Had real trouble finding the new 7 seat version of the R class that was sensibly priced and the right spec and also an all black CLK cab.
Prob was interior of cabriolet is grey leather and the R class didn't have the privacy glass.
Amazing thing is that they are going to put all new interior leather, panels, seat belt etc in black for us and also replace all the glass with privacy glass (not flim stuck on) in the R class.
All the for sum of 64K (plus 1700 allowed for a trade in).
Seems like a lot of effort on their part and they really seemed to go out of their way. Collect in about 10 days. Just fingers crossed they do it right!

Agreed, lovely looking car! both cars I bought are sport models so the clk is quite pretty especially from the front. Trouble is i got them both for my wife so I've shot myself in the foot and won't get much of a lookin without being called an "indian giver". I've got a ridiculous lambo which is nothing but a big money pit. I've assumed these two mercs should be easy to maintain especially for the first few years. Got a warranty thingy I think. Dont see many white merc anymore, guess it was a 80s thing that's now returning? People getting bored with iridium silver?

I got my Merc from MB Direct Birmingham and it seemed like they would let nothing stand in the way of doing a deal - very refreshing after experiences in "normal" dealers. However I would say that once I picked the car up their after sales service was hopeless - no major issues, just bits of paperwork promised that never materialised and I gave up chasing. It also took about 2hrs to pick the car up - form after form to sign (and this was a cash deal, no finance) so I would suggest you don't collect when you're under time pressure.
Thanks, these are cash deals too so I'll bare that in mind. I'll also refuse to take them if any paperwork is missing. Got seen off a while ago when i bought a lambo and the dealer never sent me a thread of history as promised.
They did go out of there way, but I'm so suspicious these days and keep getting seen off.
Thanks again.
