think the intercooler pump has gone wrong? supercharger stops working after car has been running for 30 minutes then starts working again once car has cooled down ,anyone know how much for an intercooler pump etc all fitted and where can i get it done in london
Check the pump relay is working 1st.Situated on the front of the fuse box, behind the drivers seat under the 'cubby box'.Mark.
I know TM Motors in West Molesey can deal with this as a friend had a similar problem with his SLK32AMG. Just felt like it had lost power.
Otherwise, I personally can recommend Prestige Car Service in Portsmouth (piss-easy to get to once you're on the A3). www.prestigecarservice.co.uk

I had exactly this problem whilst driving in Spain earlier this year. Seems to be a very common problem, and only found out when driving in hot conditions. I can't tell you how much the fix is as mine was done under warranty, but don't take any bullshit from your dealer. I was fobbed off with a denial through lack of knowledge of the problem, so I e-mailed AMG with a description of the symptoms, and they quickly mailed back to say it was definitely the intercooler coolant pump failing. It's a like-for-like swap, so take it to a reputable indie if there's no warranty/servicing issues.Mike, give Oliver at Prestige a call. He knows a LOT about Mercedes cars and AMGs.

I'd watch him! There is an uprated pump available - see this thread on MB forums. Renntech do IC pumps, as do the mentioned Johnson - both in USA.
