Caliper swap

Hi, Was thinking of upgrading the brakes on my W209 CLK 55 AMG. I have available a full set of calipers and discs from a late CL600. I suspect it will all go on, but does anyone know for sure or has done it already? Trying to get as much info as possible before starting the project. Any feedback most welcome.

I think the CL600 brakes ..



.. are a lot bigger than the CLK brakes ..



The CL ones are similar to the S Class, whereas the CLK brakes are smaller and belong the the C Class family.

Have a look at the clearance between the caliper and the wheel on your CLK, is there that much room to play with ?

Thanks for that. I will look at the clearance situation. Maybe it will have to be the brakes off a late SLK55. They seem to be 6 pot front and 4 pot rear. I was initially looking at the later CL600 with the 8 pot front and 4 pot rear. But looking at the different offset of the disc, friction face to hub face, there could be a problem. MMMMMMMMMMMM

Delving into the upgrade a bit further. Does anyone know if the late SLK 55 and late CLK 55 have the same brakes. Looking at photos they seem to be 2 piece on the front of the SLK 55. Anyone know of a car being broken?
