help needed regarding E55 AMG
Discussion
I am looking for some advice regarding a Mercedes E55 AMG its a 99 model all parts available
regarding Engine / Gearbox dimensions and weight .
Does anyone have the dimensions to the engine & gearbox and approximate weight
Esentially to use the engine / gearbox in another car for a track day use ,
Regarding the ECU / Computer how practical could this be adapted or is this going to prove to be an expensive headache
thanks

What car is the powerplant going into ?
I would suggest the ECU will be a nightmare, When coding something as 'run of the mill' as an A Class it can be bewildering as it wants to know everything that's going on, how many seats, heated mirrors and hundreds of other combinations of what the vehicle is equipped with.
I'll have a look at weights tomorrow.

Its a very early 1970 Cologne Ford Capri .........not fitted with an ECUI would suggest the ECU will be a nightmare, When coding something as 'run of the mill' as an A Class it can be bewildering as it wants to know everything that's going on, how many seats, heated mirrors and hundreds of other combinations of what the vehicle is equipped with.

The E 55 AMG is a complete car so all parts would be available.
The car was going for a song about the same price as a Griffith 500 Engine with box.
thanks
