HID,s on ML lights flikering.

A mate of mine has just fitted a brand new HID kit on to a ML.Now when he switches the lights on they constantly fliker.Do Mercs fit some sort of inhibiter to the wiring system to prevent after market kits being fitted.The reason i ask,is that these kits have been fitted to many different makes of cars,and this is the first time this has happened.If so how can i get around this.Thanks in advance for any info given.

Are both flickering, or just one? If one, then the ballast is probably defective.

There can be many reasons for this. Simple electrical contact problems, all the way to voltage drop sensors. Sometimes you need extra resistors in the lighting circuits to balance up voltage drains from other lights. You need an auto-electrician's advice.
