Novice Merc Advice - where to go....
Discussion
Hi all,
The shed of the week has inspired me to go for a Merc W124 coupe, however I am struggling with models, options, desirability etc.
Is there a good forum for coupe advice? How much does leather add? How common a manuals (not very outside of the 300s I presume) etc. etc.
So where do I go for advice and any good leads on specials stocking W124s. Looking to spend up to £5K and happy with high milage.
Cheers,
Adrian

A good knowledge based site can be found here: http://www.w124.co.uk/index.html
There are several good forums around, one here: http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/index.php?
Leather would make the car more desirable, but may not affect the value a great deal on this sort of age. Manuals are not very nice on these cars, the auto boxes are silky smooth and very reliable.
Hope the above is some use to you.
Coupes are certainly popular at the moment!
I'd go for an E320 coupe, with the 5-speed auto if you can find one, with leather and working a/c. Everything else is icing on the cake. Just make sure it's in the right colour combination for you and that it has history
I might look at few Coupes in the New Year!
