Hey Folks,
My old man is on the verge of purchasing one of the above.
I have read some quite positive reports from doing a search on here but anything he should know, look out for or spec as it will definately be new.
I can't believe it's only a 4 seater but shouldn't matter too much as myself and bro's are all grown up so will rarely be more than 2 up.
Trying to get him to take a testdrive in one of the BMW 535D's as I belive they are awesome, more torque than an M5 and all that.
Definately prefer the looks of the CLS, I sowed the seed with him when they were first released and still think they are the best looking barge out there.
Cheers in advance,
Foyler

I would always recommend looking at one with COMAND, leather and a wheel upgrade from the standard 17".
I absolutely love mine and could not recommend them highly enough.
Those options are essential really. Absolutely love the CLS, shame my wifes selling hers as she's getting involved in the school run and wants more seats. The diesel engine is superb, and the car just wafts along as if your on a plane sometimes!I absolutely love mine and could not recommend them highly enough.

Hey Folks,
Thanks for the replies, I was chatting to him this evening and he has a couple more questions.
How is it for holding golf bags, he had a Daimler years ago that wasn't great due to the sloping line of the boot and given that the CLS is a similar shape I thought he might have similar difficulties. He sometimes heads away with mates so would it fit 3/4 bags, my Evo 8 fits 3 so I would hope it'll take 4.
Anyone compared against similar 5 series, the only thing putting him off the merc is that another local guy who the old man doesn't get on with, has a CLS and in our goldfish bowl West of Ireland community such small things matter.
Finally any ideas/suggetions re interior & exterior colours. I realise this is a somewhat personal choice but some cars look better in certain colours/combinations. I read in another post to steer clear of silver/black as they are so common. He's seen maroon/burgundy and quite likes it but I'm not so Roy (Keane). Any other silver/black variants like charcoal/anthracite.
Cheers in advance for any help.

Hi, minimum spec for a CLS taking residuals into account is telephone prewire, COMAND, leather, R32 alloys (the standard 17s look too small). Also although it is personal preference I would avoid the matte wood and stick with the high gloss or the black woods (or designo if you're pushing the boat out).
