I need help!... I have been told by mechanic that my S320i V6 saloon 1999 model needs replacing nearside catalytic converter and he recommended that replacing both nearside and offside converter's at the same time would be a good idea. The price he quoted me was very high (MB catalytic converter £700 each and plus labour charge on top of that) could someone confirm to me if i should go for cheaper option by buying one from online and get someone to fit it? Average online price for catalytic converter £250 each. He also told me that I should go for MB converter rather then buying online (http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/cat_display.php?txtmodel=S320&Submit=Next&txtmake=MERCEDES) . Could someone tell me what should I chose? MB parts or buy online from buypartsby.co.uk online? Also would be nice to know how much I should expect to pay for labour charge for replacing both converters. I live in Croydon and if anyone know good mechanic around here. Thanks in advance for your help. steven

Cheapo cats always fail after a year or two. Stick with Mercedes, but shop around to get a good price.
