Just a quick heads up really.

Spoke with my local dealer this morning about either renewing my warranty and/or a Service Plus contract.

"We don't cover AMG models now with Service Plus, it was getting too expensive apparently."

They (the dealers) have all had a memo round asking them not to quote for it. Bloody great. Still happy to sell you the cars though aren't they.

And I'm still waiting for him to call me back about the warranty (2 + hours later)

Well, they shouldn't charge so much for labour then should they? I'm glad my warranty has another couple of years to run. I've booked mine in next week for the intercooler pump to be replaced, and there was no mention of a warranty problem, but the service chap was on his own and a bit hassled!

He did eventually ring back with an apology for being late.

Just over a grand for a full 12 month warranty which I'll probably take them up on.

Had two problems last year (minor on most cars, but not with MB labour charges) which came to over that.

looking to take an aftermarket one out on the CL430, think I'll go 24months unlimited labour, about £800 (£500 for 24months but only £1K per claim)

I looked at after-market ones, but they all chicken out when you mention that it's an AMG.

They all sounded pretty much the same really, biggest they'd touch was an E500.

I'm going for the MB one after a llot of searching.

Worthwhile trying to find a good indie for servicing etc... will save a fortune.
